203 graduates were awarded degrees during Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) Peshawar 3rd Convocation for BS four Year Program Session (2011-15), Master/MPhil, and PhD Program (2013-15) held on Tuesday at University of Peshawar Convocation Hall.
On this occasion SBBWU Peshawar Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Razia Sultana awarded the degrees to students.
The awards included 07 PhD degree holders, 02 MPhil, 119 Master and 75 Bachelor of Science in different disciplines and 30 students of Master and BS were awarded Gold Medals who grabbed first positions their respective departments.
The BS students from Affiliated Colleges (Government Girls Degree College Hayatabad, Government Frontier College for Women Peshawar, Government City Girls College Peshawar and Government Girls Degree College Nowshera) also received their degrees.
Addressing to the students SBBWU Peshawar, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana congratulated the students and their proud parents on the highest achievement of their life and encouraged them to move forward in their respective fields.
She said that SBBWU equally compete along with other partners for playing a key role in China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project which is which is a mega project launched by government of Pakistan with the collaboration of China government.
The VC informed that SBBWU is going to start Chinese language courses in near future in which not only university students but other college’s students can take admission. She encouraged female students to learn the Chinese language and play key role in China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project.
The VC shared that varsity got several achievements in last three years of time and they gave 900 scholarships to deserving students. She said that varsity has introduced quota seats for internally displaced persons (IDPs) students of Waziristan and Khyber Agency, Chital and for minorities. Dr Sultana said that with the support of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government very soon they will build their own labs, halls and libraries.
She hoped that the 4th convocation ceremony of varsity would held in SBBWU Peshawar Convocation Hall. The VC appealed to provincial government to support them in construction of roads to university, hostels and other under construction work for the bright future of young generation.
It is notified for the information of all concerned that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar will remain closed on Thursday, 23rd March 2017, on account of Pakistan Day. Schedule of examinations, tests, interviews, if already announced, will remain unchanged. This is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority..Download Notification.

Miss Sonia Ambreen lecturer, Department of Political Science went to US under International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP). The theme of the programme was, "Democratic Transition in US Political System: Post-Donald Trump America". Miss Sonia proudly represented SBBWUP & Pakistan among 16 countries of the world that included: Zimbabwe, Bolivia, Malaysia, Thailand, Tunisia, Nepal, Trinidad & Tobago, Vietnam, Ghana, Peru, Venezuela, Serbia, Israel, Egypt, Poland and Taiwan. Ms Sonia held meetings with different US politicians, Senators & Representatives of the US Congress & studied the recent US electoral process, it's functioning & it's impact on the US politics. As part of her project, she also attended the inauguration ceremony of the US President Donald Trump.
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU), Peshawar signed an MoU with Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI). The invitation for collaboration with SBBWU was well received by Mr. Muhammad Iqbal, Acting President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry. It was Mr. Iqbal who with his dynamic leadership materialized the long awaited MoU with SBBWU.
The MoU signing ceremony was organized in Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry where Executive members of Chamber witnessed the MoU signing ceremony. The agreement was signed by Mr.Muhammad Iqbal , Acting President Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar.
On the occasion Mr. Muhammad Iqbal asserted, “University-industry linkages are of paramount importance for the socio-economic development and the partnership established with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar will surely yield positive results." Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana while expressing her views mentioned “With this linkage, strenuous efforts will be made to attain the knowledge economy. MoU will open new avenues of growth and opportunities for our faculty and students and it will certainly contribute to the economy of Pakistan." Prof. Sultana also lauded the efforts of Mr. Iqbal and said "Steps taken by Mr. Iqbal for the establishment of linkage with SBBWU are commendable."
Workshop on Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE)organized by CECOS University, Peshawar on 7th Feb, 2017 where the Ms. Mahwish Asmat Ullah Deputy Director, QEC, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar attended the workshop as a Resource Person along with Ms. Amna Shaheen ,Assistant Director, QEC and Ms. Maham , Assistant Director, QEC.
The Department of Management Sciences arranged a 4 Days' workshop on "Soft Skills Development Program" from 20th- 23rd February 2017 in collaboration with Center for Awareness, Training and Development. The workshop was arranged for the students of Department of Management Sciences and Economics. This 4 days program was planned for developing in students, the attitudes, attributes and fine-tuned communication and integration skills to make them able to express their ideas with appropriate communication skills in oral, written, and non-verbal areas as attitudes and skills are integral to professional success.
Department of English Language & Literature organized a Skype session for the students. The speaker was Dr. Muazzam Sharif from Department of English, Southampton University. He has done his dissertation on "Dramaturgical Construction of Hamlet to Challenge of the Play."
His session was on "Modern Ophelia". The session was organized by Ms. Hoor Shamail Khattak, In charge, Department of English. The faculty members and students attended it with fervor.
